HOS Places 2nd at Aiea Orchid Show

The Honolulu Orchid Society display was selected as the second best display at the 2012 Aiea Orchid Show.  The Windward Orchid Society took first place.  HOS’ display featured a large bamboo tree background and three tall bamboo posts that served as a platform for a variety of hanging orchids.  The display had many outstanding orchids which included Calvin and Sherry Abe’s Dendrobium Thomas Warne which was selected as the Best White Dendrobium, Pam Waki’s Dendrobium Rising Star which was selected as the Best Lavender Dendrobium, and Pam Waki’s Dendrobium sulcatum which was selected as the Best Yellow Dendrobium.

The display setup was chaired by Williette Wong and Carol De Witt.  Several members including Calvin and Sherry Abe, Vivian McCoy, Ben Sills, Mel Waki, Ruth Chun and Edwin Oka helped with putting up the display.
