HOS Display Judged Best at Ewa Orchid Show

The Honolulu Orchid Society won the Best Display Trophy at the 2012 Ewa Orchid Show.  The winning display was announced after judging late Thursday night, the day before the Show.  The Show was held on July 13-15, 2012, at the Ewa Elementary School on Renton Road in Ewa

The construction of the HOS Display was co-chaired by Williette Wong and Carol De Witt.  They were helped by several members including  Ben Sills and Calvin and Sherry Abe who arrived early in the morning on Thursday to put up the framework for the display.  Calvin and Sherry brought warm malasadas to energize the HOS work crew, the majority of whom arrived at around 10:00 AM. With a short lunch break, the HOS display was completed at 1:30 PM.  The display had many outstanding plants of which five won trophies for the best in their categories.
