“Flower Power” Will Debut at September HOS Meeting

Calvin and Sherry Abe, two retired school teachers, will share their experiences as beginning orchid growers in their presentation titled “Flower Power”.  They will show how they managed to squeeze their large collection of orchids into minimum growing spaces around their house.  They will share what they have learned through their many trials and errors.  Calvin will be using his photographic skills and Sherry her verbal skills to give the audience a breath taking tour of their growing areas and landscaped orchid gardens.  The audience will be amazed at what can be done with imagination and will power.  The presentation will be given at the September 12 General Membership Meeting of the Honolulu Orchid Society.  The meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 PM in the Lanakila Elementary School Cafeteria.  Guests are more than welcome.  Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.

  1. Looking forward to an entertaining and educational meeting. The Abe’s are a wonderful team; they are so supportive of each other’s needs that I think they can read each other’s minds.

  2. We are looking forward to finding ways to creatively fit our orchids into our small spaces. We could also use some advice on building a small green house to fit in the corner of our yard. So sorry to have missed the last meeting, we showed up a week late, not realizing that it was already the third Wednesday.
