Jaina, a self proclaimed wannabe photographer, visited the Honolulu Orchid Society Show on Saturday.  With her Canon 5D Mark II camera and a bag full of professional lens, she photographed orchid flowers and other items that captured her attention.  The photographs below represented her view of the Show.

The Honolulu Orchid Society’s 73rd Annual Orchid Plant and Flower Show at Washington Middle School closed at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 7, 2012.  The following photos memorializes the Show Theme “Galaxy of Orchids”. Next year’s Show will be held at Washington Middle School on October 4-6, 2013.

Den. Enobi Purple ‘Splash’ Selected Best in Show; Kunia Orchid Society Takes Best Guest Display Trophy.

Den. Enobi Purple ‘Splash’ owned by Pam Waki received the Best in Show Trophy at this year’s Honolulu Orchid Society Show.  The results were revealed at 8:30 PM on Thursday by Bob Moffitt, Chairman of the Honolulu Orchid Society Judging Panel.  The display by the Kunia Orchid Society was selected as the Best Guest Display.  The Show opens on Friday at 9:00 AM.

Washington Middle School Readied for this Week’s HOS Show

The Show Committee started early this morning setting up the Cafeteria at Washington Middle School for this weekend’s Orchid Show.  Signs were posted.  Tables were moved.  Plastic sheets were laid.  By mid-afternoon, the Cafeteria was ready for tomorrow’s (Thursday’s) invasion of orchid people and plants.  Six orchid organizations (Aiea Orchid Club, Ewa Orchid Society, Hawaii Kai Orchid Society, Honolulu Orchid Society, Kunia Orchid Society and Windward Orchid Society) will be constructing their displays.  The Show opens on Friday, October 5, more »
