Four Plants Receive HOS Merit Awards at the Kunia Show

The Honolulu Orchid Society Judging Panel gave four merit awards at the 2013 Kunia Orchid Show.  Judging took place on Thursday night, March 21.

Dtps. Jiuhbao Stream 'Cherry Whisper' received an Award of Merit (AM), scoring 81.3 points.  The plant is owned by Penny's Orchids.  The Plant also received the Best in Show Trophy..
Dtps. Jiuhbao Stream ‘Cherry Whisper’ received an Award of Merit (AM), scoring 84.3 points. The plant is owned by Penny’s Orchids of Waianae. The Plant also received the Governor’s Trophy for the Best in Show.
This plant received an AM scoring 81.3 points.  The plant is owned by Calvin Kumano.  It also was selected as the Best Cattleya in the Show.
Pot. Hawaiian Prominence ‘America’ received an AM scoring 81.3 points. The plant was displayed by Calvin Kumano of Pearl City. It was also selected as the Best Cattleya in the Show.
This Den. atroviolaceum received a Certificate of Cultural Merit (CCM) scoring 85.3 points.  The plant was displayed by Ken and Aileen Ching of Mililani.  The plant was also selected as the Best Flowering Specimen Plant. in the Show.

This Tolu Seka x Tolu. Sensation was awarded a Certificate of Recognition (CR) scoring 77.7 points.  The plant was displayed by Pam Waki of Aiea.  The plant also received the Best Equitant Oncidium Trophy.
