TnT #1. Be On Guard for Pests

Hello all you orchid lovers. It’s time to be on guard for orchid pest in your garden.  Spider Mites love this weather, so you need to treat your orchids to some insecticide to help prevent the bugs from spreading and causing a lot of damage to your Dendrobiums and Cattleyas.  I like to use Bayer 3 in 1 to help control and kill off lots of bugs.  I also use Neem Oil.  You should practice this method after you water all your orchids.  Mix some insecticide following the directions and spray the orchids in the evening.  Treat any heavy infestation every 3 to 5 days apart. Then one week later treat again.  This should help kill off most of your problems.  Try to check your orchids and treat them once a month.  Treat the problem orchids more often.  Do not mix more than is recommended.  Follow the directions on the label. Happy Growing!.  (This tip was submitted by Roy Andrade)

Mites love the warm weather. They are tiny but can cause extensive damage to orchid plants if steps are not taken to control them.
