HOS Display Captures 1st Place at 2015 Kunia Orchid Show

The Honolulu Orchid Society’s display won the First Place Trophy for Large Displays at the 2015 Kunia Orchid Show.  The Show was held at the Leilehua High School Gymnasium during March 20-22, 2015.  The display setup was chaired by Carol DeWitt.  Several plants in the display won trophies for best of their categories.  Doug DeMoss’ C. amethystoglossa ‘Cathy’ won the Best Cattleya Trophy and his Ascda. Norma Majewski ‘Pupukea Sunset’ won the Best Ascocenda Trophy.  Ken and Aileen Ching’s V. Boonyarit Diamond won the Best Vandaceous Trophy; their Epi. schumannianum won the Best Epidendrum Trophy; and their Onc. obryzatum ‘SD #3’ won the Best Oncidium Trophy.  Calvin Kumano’s Cym. Little Black Sambo ‘Black Magic’ won the Best Cymbidium Trophy.  Ruth Chun’s Milt. Cream Puff won the Best Miltonia Trophy.  George and Judy Hidano’s Den. Paul Paquette ‘Bater’ won the Best Flowering Specimen Plant Trophy and their Epi. stamfordianum won the Best Species Trophy.  The display was beautifully laid out and deserving of the 1st Place Trophy as depicted by the following photos taken by Calvin Abe.
