Presentation on the 2017 World Orchid Conference in Ecuador Will Be Given at Wednesday’s (May 9, 2018) HOS Meeting

A presentation of the 2017 World Orchid Conference that was held at Ecuador in November 2017 will be given at the Honolulu Orchid Society (HOS) meeting on Wednesday, May 9, 2018.  The presentation will be given by Dr. Ingelia White and Dr. Hongwei Li.  Dr. White recently retired as Professor of Botany and Microbiology and Coordinator of the Agripharmatech Program at the Windward Community College.  She taught for 35 years at the College.  Dr. Li is an Instructor in Microbiology at the College.  Besides Dr. White’s and Dr. Li’s presentation, Marisa Maemori will present her scientific poster on Liparis hawaiensis which she shared at the 2017 World Orchid Conference.  Liparis hawaiensis (pictured below) is only one of three native Hawaiian orchids.

The presentations will be given at the Lanakila Elementary School cafeteria.  The meeting starts at 7:00 PM.  Guests are more than welcome to attend.  There is ample free parking in front of the cafeteria.
