“Organic Inputs for Your Orchids” to be Discussed at Wednesday’s HOS Meeting

Dr. Amjad Ahmad from the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii-Manoa will be the guest speaker at Wednesday’s (August 8, 2018) meeting of the Honolulu Orchid Society. His presentation on “Organic Inputs for Your Orchids” will focus on three topics: biochar and its benefits and uses; seedlings media improvement; and vermicompost and compost tea. Dr. Ahmad graduated with a PhD degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from the University of Hawaii in 2009. He is currently a researcher at the Sustainable and Organic Agriculture Program at the University.

The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the Lanakila Elementary School Cafeteria. Guests are more than welcome.
