I took a session once and had a lot of fun, learned a lot. my daughter really enjoyed it too and gets nice blooms…me, not as lucky, but i get some nice ones here and there. thank you for sharing.

during the class they mentioned sterilizing tools with a butane torch. i am a distributor for a culinary torch that can be mounted on top of the butane cans and used in the same way. simpler, and easier. the cans of butane can be bought at Longs or anywhere. i also distribute the cans of fuel.

anyway, if the orchid society was interested in offering it to their members, i would be more than happy to work with the society at dealer cost as this is not the focus of our business. we focus on the foodservice industry. what the society sells it for is not my concern. they could pass the savings on at cost if they want to. i was just thinking it would just be a convenient, safer way to sterilize.

You are more than welcome to attend our meetings. The meeting next Wednesday (March 10) will be our Silent Auction night so it will be a good opportunity to pick up some plants or some baked goods. We hope to see you there.

The thumbprint in the Recent Photos column can be enlarged by clicking on the thumbprint. This will take you to the Flickr site where the photo can be further enlarged by clicking on the “ALL SIZES” button above the photo.

Your suggestion of photographing all of the plants brought in by members at meetings is a good idea. We will see if we can find someone to photograph the plants.

Newsletter is early and looks great!

Can the thumbprints of the recent photos be enlarged?

Suggestion: Post photos of all plants brought by members at each meeting and designate the cultural awarded plants. I know it will take space, but it can be put on disc and stored before the next meeting’s input. Members can also download the photos for their own use.
