I usually take photos of orchid flowers of plants that I bloomed myself. However, in this case, the flowers and buds were already on a plant that I purchased from Roy Tokunaga at the Aiea Orchid Club meeting on November 28, 2022. This species is from West Africa and can grow into specimen size plants with over 150 flowers. The plant that I purchased is very small and will take years to grow into a specimen plant. It is in a 2-inch plastic basket inserted into a 2-1/2 inch plastic pot. It has a few pieces of bark as the media.
Good growing into a great specimen plant. Will the flower spikes be longer as it matures?
