These are very colorful and unusual small growing orchids with relatively large flowers. They grow in West Africa and are found terrestrially. The pseudobulbs are unique and shaped like a “Hershey kiss”.
They bloom in the late fall to early winter, and need a monsoonal type growing method. Start watering when new growth emerges, keep damp for whole growing season. After blooming reduce water to once weekly, then in mid-late December water only once every 2 weeks. Plant is now in rest and may drop it’s leaves.
In the spring new growth begins.
