This is a plant that I got more than 20 years ago from Norman Mizuno of Haiku Maui Orchids. I don’t believe the nursery exists any more. The plant is growing in a wooden basket, hung under 50% shade cloth and watered 2-3 times per week. Andy Okada from Maui has a plant of this hybrid that won an American Orchid Society cultural award in 2016. His plant had an amazing 44 inflorescences when awarded. The flowers are very short lived. Petals begin falling off after 2-3 days.
the flowers look like they are all waiting to do a dance performance as I keep looking at them.
Stunning species! Norman lives on the Big Island now. I purchased a lot of species from him when I went to the Hilo Orchid Show last year.
