Zygopetalum Debbie de Mello is a cross of Z. Imagination x Z. Helen-Ku. ‘Honolulu Baby’ has very dark sepals and petals with a lime green picotee along the edges. The purple lip edged with white is a very nice complement to the darker parts of the flower. The back side of the sepals and petals are also lime green, making it hard to tell what the colors of the flower will be. A sweet fragrance has been observed, as is common among Zygopetalums. I received this plant at the Honolulu Orchid Society Annual Banquet on Feb. 19th.
