HOS Loses a Friend in Dr. Yoneo Sagawa

It is sad to report that Dr. Yoneo Sagawa passed away on December 10, 2013. Dr. Sagawa was a father, teacher, mentor and friend to many people in the orchid industry. He was a staunch supporter of the Honolulu Orchid Society. He was a lifetime member of the Society and for many years served as the swearing-in official at the Society’s annual installation banquet. Dr. Sagawa passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at home. He was 87 years old. Private services were held on December 20, 2013 at the Hosoi Garden Mortuary. A public burial service will be held later. He is survived by his daughters Penelope Sagawa and Irene Sagawa and sister Hanae Maeda.
