Honohono Workshop a Big Hit
A workshop on honohono culture was held on July 18 at Callman Au’s residence in Mililani Town. The workshop was attended by 26 students, 22 of whom were Honolulu Orchid Society members and guests. The workshop began at 9:00 AM and ended with lunch at around noontime. The workshop was very well organized with a mixture of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on work. In addition to Callman Au, presentations were given by Kunia Orchid Society members Bernard Cabilao, Larry Yamamoto, Brad Lau and Warren Inaba. Each attendee went home with boxes of plants and an abundance of information about honohono culture.

Thank you Callman and Frances Au for sharing your expertise and home with us. It was such a rewarding learning session from a Master honohono grower. The entire program, his helpers who learned their master’s traits and were willing to share their own experiences growing honohono, was priceless. You all made the attendees very happy campers and we hope to re-pay your generosity by bringing our BLOOMING HONOHONO to your 2016 Kunia Orchid Show.
thank you
