Growing Tolumnias (Equitant Oncidiums) Will Be Subject of HOS Meeting on April 10, 2019

Melvin Waki will be the guest speaker at the April 10, 2019 general membership meeting of the Honolulu Orchid Society (HOS).  He will be presenting a program on “Growing Tolumnias”.  Tolumnias used to be called Equitant Oncidiums.  They are miniature orchids that come in all kinds of colors and designs.  Melvin will show examples of how he grows his plants and explain how to best grow them to flower.  As part of the presentation/workshop, attendees will have an opportunity to plant their own Tolumnia to take home.  Melvin is an Honorary Member of HOS and an accredited Judge of HOS.  He has grown orchids for more than 40 years.

The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the Lanakila Elementary School cafeteria.  Guests are more than welcome to attend.  There is ample free parking in front of the cafeteria.  Refreshments will be served.
