HOS Installation Banquet to be Held Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Hale Ikena Restaurant at Fort Shafter

The Annual Meeting and Installation Banquet for the Honolulu Orchid Society will be held at the Fort Shafter Hale Ikena Restaurant on Sunday, January 19, 2020 starting at 9:30 AM.  It is a Sunday Brunch Buffet with an array of fresh fruits, assorted fresh vegetables, pastries, omelets (create your own), prime rib, hot breakfast and lunch entrees, desserts and beverages.  The cost is $33.00 per person (age 11 and above) and $20.00 for children (ages 3 to 10 years old).  The deadline for signing up was December 27, 2019, but if you still want to attend, call Carol De Witt at 808-597-4087 or email her at seabreeze808@outlook.com and inform her of the number and names of those attending, your name and contact phone number.  Your payment will be accepted at the Banquet.  Make checks payable to the Honolulu Orchid Society.

The banquet will be a brunch which features prime rib, chicken, fish, kalua pork, eggs, pancake, sausage and other goodies.  At last year’s banquet Marisa Maemori filled her plate with as much as the plate could hold.
Blaine Fergerstrom, the webmaster for HOS, won the grand door prize at last year’s banquet.

Fort Shafter is a military installation.  Security is rigidly enforced.  Everyone attending must have in their possession a personal identification (driver’s license, state ID or passport).  Student IDs will not be accepted as a form of ID.  In addition, drivers of vehicles must show at the Pass and ID Office, their vehicle registration, vehicle no-fault insurance card and vehicle safety inspection paper.  Documents must be up to date.  It is recommended that you allow 30 minutes for security processing.

The Installation Banquet gives everyone an opportunity to mingle with people with a common interest–orchids.  It is a very informal gathering with lots to eat mixed with fun and laughter.  The Society will be purchasing orchid plants to give away as door prizes.  Join us if you can.
